An introduction to arm balances
Battersea Yoga
Saturday 2 May
2pm - 4pm
Have you even been in a class where the teacher says "and if this arm balance is in your practice...", and you want to try but have no idea where to start? Find out how and learn to fly in this 2 hour interactive workshop.
Characterised by balancing on either our hands or arms, arm balances can be empowering and allow us to challenge our physical and mental boundaries.
At first glance, they can be intimidating and for good reason: many of us aren't used to standing on our hands! However, with an understanding behind their mechanics, the results can be rewarding and often a lot of fun.
In this workshop, you'll explore the fundamental techniques and tricks behind arm balances. From foundational postures like side plank (Vasisthasana), to exploring the Crow (Bakasana) family, to learning how you might fly in Pigeon pose (Eka Pada Galavasana) plus lots more, you'll leave with the knowledge to take your arm balance practice to the next level.
Whether you're looking to find "lift off" for the first time or want to refine your existing technique, come with an open mind and a sense of playfulness, and learn how arm balances are more accessible than you might think.
Suitable for all levels of yoga experience except complete beginners.
