Arm balances are empowering and allow us to challenge our physical and mental boundaries. At first glance, this family of postures can be intimidating and for good reason: many of us aren't used to standing on our hands! However, with an understanding behind their mechanics, the results can be rewarding and often a lot of fun.
In this workshop, you will:
Explore the fundamental techniques and tricks behind arm balances, from foundational postures like side plank (Vasisthasana) and Crow (Bakasana), to learning how you might fly in Pigeon pose (Eka Pada Galavasana) plus more
Build an understanding of what should be engaged, strengthened, opened and lengthened, through a carefully sequenced Vinyasa-based practice
Explore transitions into and out of these positions
Leave with the knowledge to take your arm balance practice to new levels
Whether you're looking to find "lift off" for the first time or want to refine your existing technique, come with an open mind and a sense of playfulness, and learn how arm balances are more accessible than you might think.
This workshop is for anyone with a regular practice. Though there will be some challenging postures, the focus is the direction of travel, rather than the destination. Following the workshop, you will also receive a full recording, available on-demand.
